Terms and Conditions

General Workshop cancellation policy.

  • If at any time a student must cancel a workshop space this must be done by email sent to loimi.and.ko@gmail.com at the student’s earliest opportunity.

  • It is the student's responsibility to ensure contact details are up to date at the time of booking the workshop.

  • Loimi and Ko reserves the right to cancel a workshop if circumstances dictate this. You will be notified by phone or email as soon as possible.

  • Cancellation of a workshop spot more than 4 weeks before the commencement of a workshop series will be refunded minus an administration fee of £30 in order to cover resources needed to fill the space.

  • Cancellation within 4 weeks of the commencement of a workshop will only be refunded if the workshop space can be filled at short notice and will incur and administration and late notice fee of £60.

  • If we must cancel a workshop series due to unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather, public health situations, acts of terrorism, acts of vandalism, fire, damage to the studio or building, theft, no refund will be given. However, students will be given the opportunity to sign up for a workshop at a later date.

  • If a student wishes to reschedule their workshop attendance for a later date and notifies Loimi and Ko more than four weeks before the workshop commencement date no fee will be taken. Depending on the circumstances that require the workshop to be rescheduled a student may be offered a 12-month period in which to move to another workshop.

  • No refunds will be given for non-attendance of a rescheduled workshop, and no alternatives will be arranged.

  • Any damage to equipment as part of any class held in the Loimi and Ko. studio will incur a damage fee of £50.

  • It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they book a workshop series appropriate to their weaving level. Loimi and Ko. are not responsible for any issues arising from booking on a course which is too advanced or not advanced enough for a workshop attendee. We will not offer refunds in this case.

  • Unfortunately, due to the age of the Coburg art studio building and the location of the Loimi and Ko studio in the loft our workshops are not wheelchair accessible. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Evening Workshop Series

  • Evening classes run for 6 consecutive weeks of 2.5-hour classes. This is a total of 15 hours weaving time. In general, this is enough time to design a beginner level project, dress the loom, weave the project and remove it from the loom.

  • If a student must miss a class in the series, they may be able to replace one class at the end of the series. No more than one additional class can be added without fee.

  • If a student feels they need more time to complete their project “extra weeks” can be tacked on to the end of the workshop series. We kindly request that as much notice as possible is given so that space can be made. Each extra week will incur a £20 fee.

  • If a class in a series of evening workshops needs to be rescheduled an extra week will be added free of charge at the end of the workshop period.

  • No refund will be given if the project is completed under the allocated time or additional time already booked.

Weekend workshops

  • Weekend workshops run for two consecutive days on or near the weekend. They typically run for 6 hours each day not including lunch breaks. This allows for a total of 12 hours weaving time.

  • This is generally enough time to weave samples or a completed project on a pre-setup loom.

Equipment Use

  • Equipment for all workshops will be provided and included in the workshop fee. We kindly ask that equipment is treated with respect so as to avoid accident and damage.

  • If you wish to bring your own loom, equipment or materials to one of our workshops this must be arranged in advance and the equipment must be in working order.

Fees

  • Workshop fees cover tuition, use of studio space and equipment, materials and tea, coffee and the occasional snack. There are no discounts given if a student wishes to bring their own equipment or materials.

  • Fees must be paid in full via the Loimi and Ko. Website or via bank transfer when arranged. Full payment of fees entitles the student to attend the workshop series.

Personal information

  • Loimi and ko deals with personal data in accordance with the data protection act 1998.

  • Upon signing up for a workshop series a student automatically gives consent for their image to be shared on social media or in other Loimi and Ko. marketing campaigns.

  • If you prefer that your image is not used in the above manner. We will check this at the commencement of a workshop series. It is perfectly acceptable if a student does not want their image shared.

  • Copyright of any photographs containing your image or work made during any of the workshops attended shall not entitle you to receive any royalties or other payments from Loimi and Ko.
